Walleye Wizard Guide Service is owned and operated by Captain Bill “Walleye” Struble, a full time New York State Licensed (#1280) Outdoor Guide (fishing/hunting). Over twenty-five years of guiding experience, including fly-fishing, charter boats, deer, turkey, duck and elk hunting: mainly in the New England Area, but also as far west as Colorado. The last 12 years operating a charter boat on the Great Sacandaga Lake, and guiding fly-fishermen to area streamsand lakes, during the spring and summer months.
While I specialize in Walleye fishing and Fly Fishing for Trout, I continue to guide for other species, such as pike, bass, salmon, carp, and other Great Sacandaga fish. You can refer to other pages on this web site to see further details on fishing for each species.
I offer morning, afternoon, and night trips depending on the species of fish, time of year, and customize the trip to meet your needs and requests. Kids, families and people with disabilities are welcome. The Charter boat “ FOUR REEL DRIVE” is a 24’ cuddy Walk-Around and is fully equipped with the latest electronics and gear: “ a Russian Spy boat doesn’t have this many gadgets” I DO NOT JUST TROLL, as most Charter boats do! I’m prepared and setup to troll, cast, drift, or anchor up – whatever we need to do to “get ur dun”! I will fish the way you prefer, and of course the way the fish are hitting at the time.
Repeat business varies each year from 85%-90% with some customers being with me for over 10 years, so I am doing something right.
Guiding on a full time basis gives me a big advantage over part-time guides, or people who only occasionally fish. I do not only know what the fish did last year, but what they did, what they wanted, and where they were yesterday. That way when you fish we can get right on to the fish.
Rates and prices can vary depending on the size of the party, year and length of the trip, so it’s best to discuss your needs and requests before I quote price. That way I can explain what you are going to get for your money, and I understand what you are looking for in a fishing trip.
